Project Overview

It is Saturday morning and three student flatmates are planning snacks for their Lord of the Rings movie marathon. One of them wants popcorn and another one wants candy. The flatmates are just about to start fighting when a catchy song starts playing on the tv. They turn around to see pretzels flying around in a commercial, and not just any pretzel – it is the new Chili Pretzel. The perfect snack for everyone who wants salty with an edge. 🔥

The project originates from a Hyper Island assignment in collaboration with Gobelins. Lisa Tobiasson’s team of students from both schools were assigned the theme “salty”, from which the team subsequently united behind a color palette and sub-theme – the pretzel.

Brief

Prompt: Create an animation based on the theme “salty”. Technical specifications: 6 seconds per student, 25 frames per second, 1080 × 1080 pixels.

Texture development

Animatic

Animatic viewport render version. In the animatic, there are three shots. However, the cut between shot two and three did not look as smooth as the rest of the video, which is why the shots were merged in the final version.
